Indications: Upward disturbance of wind phlegm
Symptoms: Dizziness, vertigo, headaches, oppression in the chest, nausea and vomiting
Tongue: White and greasy coat
Pulse: Wiry and Slippery
Clinical Applications:
- This formula is especially used for dizziness and vertigo due to wind-phlegm.
- The key symptoms are dizziness, vertigo, nausea and vomiting, white greasy tongue coat.
- For cases with severe damp phlegm, add Ze Xie and Gui Zhi.
- For cases with Liver Yang Rising, add Gou Teng and Dai Zhe Shi.
- Currently used for Meniere's syndrome, hypertension, and benign positional vertigo due to upward disturbance of wind-phlegm.
Cautions and Contraindications:
Contraindicated for vertigo from either Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency or Qi and Blood deficiency.
