- Chai Hu disperses and vents the evil pathogens from the Shaoyang channel, also disperses Qi stagnation.

- Ren Shen and Da Zao tonify Qi and strengthen the Spleen.

Indications:
- Shaoyang stage disorder in Shang Han Lun. The evil pathogen remains half exterior - half interior.
- Heat attacking the blood room (uterus) disorder, malaria, jaundice, and interior diseases that cause Shaoyang syndrome.
Tongue: Thin and white coating
Pulse: Wiry
Clinical Applications:
- The Key symptoms are alternating chills and fever, suffering from sensation of fullness in the chest and hypochondria, white tongue coating, wiry pulse.
- For cases with severe irritability in the chest and without vomiting, omit Ban Xia and Ren Shen, replace with Gua Lou.
- For thirst, omit Ban Xia, replace with Tian Hua Fen.
- For abdominal pain, Omit Huang Qin, replace with Bai Shao.
- For stifling and hardness in the hypochondria, omit Da Zao, replace with Mu Li.
- For palpitation with urinary difficulty, omit Huang, replace with Fu Ling.
- For slight chills and fever without thirst, omit Ren Shen and replace with Gui Zhi.
- For coughing, omit Ren Shen, Da Zao, Sheng Jiang, and replace with Wu Wei Zi and Gan Jiang.
- Currently used for common cold, flu, malaria, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, acute or chronic cholecystitis, gallstone, acute pancreatitis, pleurisy, otitis media, puerperal endometritis, acute mastitis, orchitis, bile reflux gastritis, peptic ulcer, etc.. Shaoyang syndrome.
